It’s time again for Groton Olde Home Days… Our community event has been proudly celebrated, and has attracted many people to our village for the annual three day celebration.
This year’s event has been delayed with its planning as we had to switch gears a little during a difficult time in our country with the pandemic of COVID-19. We all have had an incredibly tough year, as you know last year's festival was canceled because of the pandemic, and after all we’ve been through, we really need to celebrate and have a good ol' home town festival. The Festival for 2021 will be scaled back a little bit while abiding by New York State guidelines. We are hopeful this will help our community return to some sense of normalcy and give everyone something fun to look forward to this summer.
We are hopeful that our local businesses and organizations will join the festival happenings just like they have in years past by holding side walk sales, giveaways and sponsoring free community entertainment. Our Groton Historical Association does plan to hold the craft and collectible show on Conger Blvd.
Playland Amusements is planning to be back again this year with the midway opening at 6PM on Thursday, 6PM on Friday and 12PM on Saturday. This family friendly carnival will be great fun for the entire family, with rides, games, and classic carnival food. Also, back again is the popular classic car show organized by the Groton Cruisers club the car show will take place Saturday and be back on display on Conger Blvd.
There will be free fun family events on Conger blvd on Saturday. These include a magic show with Sir James, pony rides, petting zoo, FFA tractor show and paw patrol greeting families. The grand parade will take place on Saturday at 6:00 PM. We are encouraging all businesses, organizations, friends, neighbors and families to be creative and safe while joining in the festivities throughout the village.
To make this year’s Groton Olde Home Days a success we are need of your financial support. Contributions to our community event (large or small) are needed and will be greatly appreciated.
